Contract negotiators making progress

Publish Date

MAPE Negotiations Committee members are beginning serious negotiations with Minnesota Management and Budget (MMB) on the 2023-2025 contract representing more than 16,000 employees. MAPE negotiators are debating the merits of MMB’s proposals as well as evaluating some of their own.

“After an extensive discussion about telework and temporary unclassified issues, the employer brought counter proposals on both subjects. The team has started to dig into those counter proposals and will respond the next time we meet with management on May 11-12. We’re also looking forward to responses on the rest of our priorities,” MAPE President Megan Dayton said.

Negotiations Co-Chair Kristin Kirchhoff-Franklin leads discussion with members on proposals.

Negotiations Co-Chair Kristin Kirchoff-Franklin said the Negotiations Team will need continued member involvement to put pressure on management to come to agreements.

“We need your stories! When we discuss our proposals with management, your stories give real-life examples of why these are our priorities,” Kirchoff-Franklin said. “You can read the proposals at www.mape.org/proposals and submit your stories to your Regional Negotiations Representative.”

Members can also participate in actions with others in their regions or agencies to support contract priorities. Members are working together to engage with agency leadership, asking for support for our proposals. Contact your Regional Negotiations Representative for information about what’s being planned for your area. You may find your contract representative at www.mape.org/committees/negotiations-committee-team and click on the “Officers” tab.
