Dear MAPE Members,

As we approach the end of 2023, I want to take a moment to connect with each of you. This year has been a remarkable journey of challenges and triumphs. Your hard work and dedication have been the driving force behind our success, and I’m genuinely grateful for your commitment and support.

2023 Highlights:

  • Successfully negotiated MAPE’s landmark 2023-2025 contract, securing our highest wages in four decades.

  • Achieved flexibility in the workplace, ensuring work-life balance and excellent healthcare for all members.

  • Overwhelming contract approval with 92% member support.

  • Advocated for parity in the Corrections Early Retirement Program.

  • Influential victories at the Capitol, including removing legislative interference in contract certification and enhancing public employee labor protections.

  • Instrumental in passing the Paid Family and Medical Leave program set for 2026.

Your engagement has been outstanding. From rallying at contract negotiations to passionately advocating for our mission, your solidarity has been our strength. Your letters and petitions have shown an unshakable commitment to MAPE.

Looking Ahead to 2024:

  • We will revisit unresolved contract issues to strengthen our union further.

  • Our decision to update MAPE’s dues structure reflects our collective vision for a vibrant future.

  • We are exploring a shift in our structure to better align with remote work trends and member needs.
