Labor Notes Conference
April 19 -21, 2024
Hyatt Regency O’Hare
Chicago’s O’Hare Airport

What is Labor Notes?
Held every other year, Labor Notes is the biggest gathering in the nation of grassroots union activists and local labor leaders.

Why attend?
Labor Notes is an opportunity to organize with others in your union, industry, or campaign. There will be more than 100 meetings and workshops on numerous topics, including creative organizing tactics, beating apathy, running for local union office, winning contract campaigns, understanding the economy and reviving the strike. Face-to-face meetings to share tactics and swap notes are the heart of the Labor Notes Conference. Join an existing industry, union, or caucus meeting—or contact us to set one up.

MAPE Outcomes
MAPE leaders learn new strategies and tactics that are being utilized nationally throughout the labor movement. Leaders will bring their learnings back to MAPE to implement and increase our power as a union with additional tools. Leaders who attend the conference will commit to doing one or more of the following:

  • Do a lunch training for MAPE leaders to share out learnings;
  • Do a training for Lead Stewards on their learnings; or
  • Write an article for the newsletter on their learnings to share with the membership.

Who are we sending?
MAPE will send up to eighteen leaders from across the union to learn from other activists from across the country about what is and is not working in the fight for respect and a voice in the workplace.

  • Three Executive Team members
  • Five statewide leaders
  • 10 Stewards and/or Membership Secretaries
  • Speaker of the Meet and Confer Chairs or a Meet and Confer Chair
