Locals have an opportunity to give back to their communities during MAPE's fourth annual Community Service Days. The event is under way and runs through Dec. 22.
Members are asked to choose an organization from the list below or pick another charity from your community. Gather your colleagues, friends and families, and decide on a way to give back to your community.
Prizes will be awarded. The local with the highest percentage of volunteers compared to their overall number of MAPE-represented employees will receive a $200 Visa gift card, as will the local with the highest number of volunteers. Ten participants also will be randomly selected to receive $25 gift cards.
Last year, members held a Toys for Tots drive, collected supplies and funds for the Family Place, worked at food banks, assembled meals and many other activities.
Potential charities to volunteer:
- Feed My Starving Children
- Second Harvest
- People Serving People
- Emergency Foodshelf Network
- The Salvation Army
- Catholic Charities
- Kaposia Holiday Volunteers
- Neighbors, Inc. Holiday Volunteers
- Good Samaritan Society Holiday Volunteers
- Toys for Tots
Once your local has chosen a volunteer project, please notify MAPE at CSD@mape.org with the location, date, time and number of volunteers expected. When you’ve completed your volunteering, please submit your list of volunteers and activities by Friday, Dec. 29, to MAPE at CSD@mape.org. Please also send us photos, videos and thank-you notes you’d like to share.
The event is sponsored by MAPE’s Membership Committee.
