MAPE opposes voter ID, hearing this week

Minnesota’s legislature is currently considering an extreme amendment to our State Constitution that would require a photo ID to vote.  MAPE has taken a position in opposition to this measure.

This voter suppression amendment would make it especially difficult for those who have military personnel, senior citizens, students and people of color to have their voices heard at the ballot box. And, in a state with the highest voter turnout in the nation – it’s not just wrong – it’s un-Minnesotan!

A constitutional amendment that creates barriers to voting strikes at the core of what it means to be We the People. Make sure the legislature knows you stand against any amendment that requires a photo ID to vote by joining us in Capitol Room 15,  1:00 PM Wed February 1st.
