Free, confidential Employee Assistance Program can assist members, their families
Soon, MAPE members (and all state employees) will receive information on the new Employee Assistance Program.
The State Employee Group Insurance Program has contracted with LifeMatters to help provide this resource to state employees and their immediate family members. There is no charge for this confidential service.
EAP consultation is available anytime and any day (24/7/365) at 651-259-3840 or 1-800-657-3719. EAP’s professional counselors are always ready to provide brief counseling (up to three sessions) and referral for concerns such as:
• Relationship problems.
• Anxiety and depression.
• Substance abuse.
• Grief and loss.
• Legal and financial problems.
• Parent/child problems.
• Domestic violence.
Furthermore, MAPE members can receive financial consultation with a certified financial counselor for budgeting; credit report review or correction; information on mortgages, loans and other financial arrangements; debt management and consolidation; and college or retirement planning. EAP also offers consultation with an attorney for consumer law, traffic citations, family law, estate planning and other personal law issues.
If additional services are recommended, the counselor can help you connect with appropriate resources in your health plan or elsewhere in your community. You will be advised about costs, such as co-pays, for any services that your counselor refers you to.
The fear of or the actual loss of a job can turn nagging personal concerns into major problems. Use EAP to support you and your family during such a challenging time.
EAP is now available to laid off employees. EAP is available for three months after your last day as a state employee.
Please remember, EAP services are confidential, professional and voluntary, and are provided at no cost to you.
