June 24 DHS Central Office Labor/Management Meet and Confer Summary
- Budget Update – Not much is known yet. Meetings will be held during the next couple of weeks and more will be known by mid-July (including any staff reductions).
- HealthMatch – They are in “recovery” mode on this project and determining what their next steps are. There is a “Project Assessment Summary” available that summarizes what they found during the assessment of the project.
- Signage at Minnehaha – They’re working on it. They put a sign in the parking lot saying the lot is for DHS only.
- Air quality at Pine – Have done a lot of work on improving air quality. They believe they have fixed the problem. They have also checked for mold from roof leakage last year and have not found any problems with that.
- Flex time/telecommuting – Will be an issue that upper management will be looking at in the future.
- RNC – More info will be posted as it becomes available, as far as what roads will be closed, etc., during the convention.
- Mileage/hours worked questions – HR will discuss this issue with other agencies to see if there is a written policy that answers some of the questions employees have about how to record time/mileage when working out of the office. There may be a training session offered to management and employees on this issue.
- Temporary unclassified positions – HR will provide more info about this to us by the next meeting.
