- Meeting called to order (President) 12:10pm.
- Election Results (White Ballots):
- Regional Director – David E. Wright

- Regional Directors Report:
- David attended his first board meeting. Discussion for making donations, the Board decides based upon community organization and shared goals with MAPE – shared common interests. Some donations made to maintain relationships.
- Proposed resolutions for upcoming Delegate of Assembly presented and discussed:
- Pay off MAPE building loan.
- Eliminate executives in MAPE.
- Return a parliamentarian to the Board of Directors.
- Right to organize union.
- Healthcare.
- End healthcare savings plan.
- Mailings on resolutions sent out to members. The MAPE web site (www.mape.org) also has information on resolutions. Members may give feedback/input on resolutions. Some discussion followed.
- A summary of how the Delegate of Assembly works and how these proposed resolutions are handled.
- A reminder to complete and submit contract negotiations survey was made.
- Activities committee reported the recent dinner boat cruise was full to capacity and enjoyed by all.
- Business Agent Report:
- Walgreen’s and CVS charging entire co-pay for drugs under NAVITUS, issue resolved.
- Advance Steward training at Shoreview Office November 13 & 14, 2008.
- Snow emergency grievance pending.
- Good & Welfare:
- Motion to donate $250 to Duluth Central Labor Body AFL-CIO Annual Labor Day picnic
(handout) – 119 year history.
- Motion 2nd. Discussion. Motion passed vote.
- Other Business:
- Assistant Executive Director (Bob Haag)
- Negotiations (handout) – across the board increase.
- First meeting in October.
- Member Survey should be out by December.
- Union coalition has been in preliminary bargaining to get health care money committed.
- Navitus saved ~ $35M. Health Reimbursement Arrangement $250(debit card)/employee, roll-over, tax free. “Premium holiday” takes money away from healthcare trust fund.
