Have questions about prescription drugs? Check out frequently asked questions

Do you have questions about prescription drugs?

MAPE’s contract establishes the prescription drug copays. They are: $10 for tier 1, $16 for tier 2 and $36 for tier 3.

If you are being charged at a higher tier than you should be, we have additional information that can answer your questions. A frequently-asked-questions (FAQs) piece is posted that outlines the prior authorization and appeals processes, answers additional questions and provides information about specific prescription drugs.

Here is a direct link to the FAQs: https://www.navitus.com/Document%20Library/MN_FAQS.pdf

Furthermore, you should never be charged more than the actual cost of the drug, even if it is less than the copay. If you are charged more than the actual cost, please see our alert about Walgreens: www.mape.org/currentnews/drugs020108.asp

As a result of demands of the governor’s negotiating team, monthly prescriptions are written for a 30-day supply only. If you continue to ask for the old 34-day supply, you may be overcharged. Please remind your pharmacist and your doctor to dispense monthly prescriptions at a 30-day supply.

If you suspect an error, talk to your pharmacy. If that fails to correct the problem, call Navitus at 1-866-333-2757 (Monday-Friday, 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.) This contact information is also on the back of your Navitus card.

MAPE members can obtain their prescriptions through the mail order service (WellDyneRx). This mail order service allows MAPE members to receive a 90-day supply of maintenance medications for only two copays. For more information, please go to the FAQ link near the top of this page, see your Navitus pharmacy benefit booklet or go to the mail order service website at the following address: www.welldynerx.com

If you don’t get results through the appeals process or you still suspect an error, please contact your MAPE business agent or steward.
