MAPE members’ work highlighted in job search feature

KARE 11- TV in the Twin Cities metro area aired a feature on “Surviving after losing a job.”

The feature highlighted many of the services provided by MAPE members at Minnesota Workforce Centers throughout the state. MAPE members work with private and public partners at the Workforce Centers to help Minnesotans who have lost their jobs. MAPE members help job seekers get their job searches off on the right foot by conducting job search and resume writing classes. They assist job seekers with their computerized job searches and staff resource areas where job seekers can use the computers, fax machine, telephone or browse the Internet and check out the career tools.
MAPE members are the link between employers and job seekers. They help to ensure that employers know what they can do for them. MAPE members assist those with disabilities to minimize the barriers to employment. They work with veterans, collaborating between veteran representatives and Rehabilitation Services. They also assist welfare-to-work program recipients with their employment needs.
