Long term care insurance offered as voluntary MAPE benefit

Long term care insurance could be the most practical and affordable method to help cover the potentially high future costs of assisted-living, at-home, and nursing-home care. People consider long term care insurance to help protect savings, relieve the burden of care from their families, and to provide choice in the kind of care they receive.

For a limited time, MAPE members ages 18 to 65 have the opportunity to obtain this coverage with limited underwriting requirements. The coverage is completely voluntary. Members and spouses, parents and parents-in-law, retirees and retirees’ spouses, and other household members of the same generation are eligible. The initial enrollment period begins February 29 and ends May 30, 2008.
