MAPE members strongly encouraged to attend legislative town hall meetings
Governor's proposal will cost hundreds of MAPE members their jobs
Gov. Pawlenty's budget proposal to eliminate and cut essential public services will cost hundreds of MAPE members their jobs. Minnesota has the 10th leanest state government and most productive.
There are better ways to fix Minnesota's budget dilemma. Minnesota can cut wasteful government spending by eliminating unnecessary outsourced work and overpaid contractors. Minnesota needs to raise revenue by requiring wealthy Minnesotans and corporations to pay their fair share.
MAPE members are strongly encouraged to take these messages to town hall meetings that will be held all across the state. Lawmakers will be visiting communities around the state to get input on the governor’s budget recommendations and listen to the public’s ideas to address the state’s $4.8 billion budget deficit for the next biennium.
To sign up to speak at any of these locations, please go to the following TeamMAPE website link: http://ga0.org/mape/events/Minnesota_Town_Hall/details.tcl
