The 2009 Contract and Budget Leadership Workshop was a hit. One hundred sixty of MAPE's leaders from all corners of the state attended the daylong workshop on Tuesday at the Sheraton in Bloomington.
MAPE leaders heard updates on the state's $6.4 billion budget deficit, the 2009 legislative campaign and negotiations for MAPE's 2009-2011 contract with the governor's team.
MAPE's leaders then participated in breakout sessions to discuss, and to develop and commit to action plans to get the word out to all MAPE members about contract negotiations and the legislative session.
