MSP Recommendation to the board the following affirmation statement policy to be offered to each member at the completion of Basic Steward Training:
“I do want MAPE to forward my name to the State of Minnesota as a MAPE steward. I am willing to participate, (with guidance as needed) in investigations and grievances.”
MSP To amend as:
“I do want MAPE to forward my name to DOER the State of Minnesota as a MAPE steward. I am willing to participate (with guidance as needed) in investigations and grievances as needed.”
Note: This will require a change to the first sentence of Policy 33, Steward Certification and Revocation, as follows:
Stewards shall be certified as agents of MAPE upon the successful completion of MAPE’s “Beginning Steward Training” course and the signing of the following affirmation:
“I do want MAPE to forward my name to the State of Minnesota as a MAPE steward. I am willing to participate, (with guidance as needed) in investigations and grievances.”
MSF An optional procedure will be available whereby the chief steward would receive a list of all fair-share employees to contact for recruitment.
MSP 1st VP to make contact with participating stewards, prior to the arb team meeting, to provide stewards with arb team procedure information.
