Clarification of ballot issues from the Elections Committee
Questions Regarding Receipt of the Ballot
Q. What if I did not receive a part of the ballot or parts of the ballot mailing?
A. If you are a MAPE full member and did not receive a ballot, please contact the Elections Committee via e-mail at swelect@mape.org.
If there is a request for a portion of the ballot or any other item as part of the ballot mailing it will be marked as duplicate and sent out to the member. An internal record will be kept of what was sent and to whom.
Q. What if I did not receive a ballot mailing?
A. If you are a MAPE full member and did not receive a ballot, please contact the Elections Committee via e-mail at swelect@mape.org.
If there is a request for a ballot because one was not received, first check that the requestor is a full member and eligible to vote.
Questions Regarding “How do I Mark my Ballot?”
Q. How do I mark the ballot where preferential balloting is being used?
A. For the candidate contests where preferential balloting is being used (President, 1st Vice President and 2nd Vice President) voting for only one candidate is a valid vote. If choosing to rank the candidates in these elections use 1 for your first choice and 2 for your second choice, 3 is not needed.
Q. How do I mark the ballot where there are only two persons on the ballot?
A. For the candidate contests that say vote for one (Secretary and Treasurer) mark only one box.
Q. How do I mark the ballot where I can vote for no more than three candidates?
A. For the candidate contest that says vote for no more than three (Trustee) mark no more than three boxes. You may vote for fewer than three.
Other Information: Ballots have been mailed for the election of statewide officers and trustees. Ballots must be received by Friday, Nov. 13, in the special Post Office box set up for this election (use the envelope provided with the ballot). Ballots will be counted on Monday, Nov. 16.
